Hello,
My name is Mary Byrne, and I'm a reporter at The Greenfield Recorder, a daily newspaper covering Franklin County. Welcome to my online portfolio! Previously, I was a reporter and editor for the Danvers Herald in Danvers, Massachusetts, a weekly newspaper serving a community of about 27,000 residents. I've also interned at the Better Government Association, Chicago Inno and WTTW Chicago Tonight, and I was the managing editor of Loyola University Chicago's student newspaper, the Loyola Phoenix. In 2015, I spent a semester studying journalism in Rabat, Morocco, where I wrote a feature story on an immigrant family after the implementation of Africa's first immigration policy. I have a masters degree in media, communications and international journalism from the University of Glasgow, and a bachelor's degree from Loyola University Chicago. When I'm not consuming or reporting on the news, I'm downing excessive amounts of coffee in my favorite coffee shops, setting lofty goals to run another half marathon, and finding the next binge-worthy TV show on Netflix. I can also often be found staring at an email I wrote an hour ago, re-reading it "one more time" before finally sending it. Welcome to my online portfolio. |
A few examples of my work:
